As the Navajo began to transition to modern homes, they retained the hogan for celebration of the ceremonial aspects of family life. When we were driving through the Navajo reservation, we saw hogans on almost every little farmstead and small community. The Navajo may use air conditioning and cable TV, but they haven't forgotten their traditions.
