Nine of the "Ten Commandments" (one is gone now). The "Ten Commandments" are former steel-mill homes built on a ridge overlooking Pittsburgh. When they were built, they were not considered to be prime real estate because there was so much haze in the air from the steel mills, you couldn't even see the city. Plus, the railroad tracks ran at the foot of the ridge and the houses were showered with soot and ash every time a train went by.![]() |
